Tirumala Mettilotsava

H.H. Swamiji participated in Mettilotsava at Tirumala, starting very early in the morning at Shreevari Mettu, there were hundreds of devotees waiting to be led up the holy steps to have a darshan of Lord Shreenivasa. After paying obeisance to the ‘mettu’ with a mangalarathi, the grand mettilotsava started. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams’ Executive Officer, Sri K.S.Srinivasa Raju joined Swamiji and devotees there, alongwith some of his board members. The journey up the steps leading to Tirumala shrine, was almost filled with Guru Rayara devotees, with Swamiji and Matha staff leading members of various bhajana mandalis. Frequent breaks with Hari nama on their lips, all of them finally reached the hilltop and offered their reverance to Swamiji. It needs to be specially mentioned here that, Guru Raghavendra’s poorvashrama parents, who after years of yearning, when on a visit to Tirumala were a blessed by Tirumala Shreenivasa and thus was born Rayaru, whose poorvashrama name was Sri Venkatanatha. Sri Subudhendra Teertharu, an ascetic in Guru Rayaru’s lineage leading a host of devotees for a darshan of Shri Shreenivasa is indeed special. Blessed are all those who participated in this mettilotsava.
